Theo graduated from Nottingham Trent University in 1999 and joined The Johnson Partnership the following year. In the Crown Court Department he became our first trainee to win the prestigious Hammond Cup for advocacy. He qualified as a Solicitor in 2003, gained Higher Rights in 2007 before becoming a Partner in 2009. Theo has an excellent record of achieving positive outcomes for his clients from members of the general public to high profile individuals and professional sportspeople. He is a tenacious and formidable trial advocate .

Asiyah joined The Johnson Partnership September 2020. She graduated from Nottingham Trent University in 2017 and completed her LPC in 2018. Asiyah qualified as a solicitor in December 2022. Asiyah continued her training and qualified as a duty solicitor in August 2023.

Asiyah is based in the Grimsby Office but also covers the Scunthorpe area. She is regularly at the Magistrates Court and police station.

Maddy is our exclusive solicitor litigator of the most serious of Crown Court cases. She has extensive experience of representing clients charged with murder and attempted murder. She is known best for her client care skills which always make clients feel at ease when facing the worst period of time in their lives.

She is qualified to represent her clients in both the Crown Court and Magistrates Court having qualified as a Solicitor and Higher Court Advocate in 2021.
She also represents clients in the police station.

She has a Law degree and a Masters degree [specialising in the law surrounding joint enterprise in murder].

Maddy is always on hand and renown for her second to none client care.

Sian joined The Johnson Partnership’s Business Defence team in December 2017 as a Paralegal. She qualified as a solicitor in April 2021. As well as qualifying as a solicitor, Sian qualified as a Higher Court Advocate in April 2021 and became a Duty Solicitor in July 2021.

Sian graduated from Nottingham Trent University in 2012 with a LLB Law Degree. She then worked in Finance and Recruitment roles before embarking on the Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice at Nottingham Law School in September 2016.

Shannon first joined the firm as a Crown Court caseworker in 2015 and is based in our Nottingham office. Since then Shannon has qualified as a duty solicitor and regularly represents clients at both the Magistrates Court and police stations. She continues to deal with and assist counsel in a number of complex Crown Court cases. Shannon also specialises in and is part of our Prison Law team representing a number of clients before the Parole Board and at adjudications.

Supervisor of the Doncaster, Barnsley and Sheffield offices. Andy does magistrates and police stations mainly.

Originally from Yorkshire, Emma gained her Law degree at Brunel University in London, before completing the LPC at the College of Law. She trained with a Legal Aid practice in North West London, qualifying in 1998, where she remained, practising criminal law and went on to become Partner. She is a qualified Duty Solicitor and Higher Courts Advocate. Emma relocated back to Yorkshire in 2015 and had been working locally as a Consultant and Duty solicitor before joining the Johnson Partnership in 2022. An able advocate, with a wealth of experience across the whole criminal spectrum, Emma has a particular interest in representing young people.

Alex graduated from Liverpool John Moores University in July 2015 with a 2:1 in Law.

Alex joined The Johnson Partnership in 2022 and helped to set up the Hull office. Alex joined as an Accredited Police Station Representative and became a Trainee Solicitor in July 2023.

Alex qualified as a Solicitor in January 2025.

Charlotte joined the firm in January 2022 as a crown court clerk whilst completing her LPC part time. Her masters dissertation focused on whether criminal legal aid allows access to justice. Charlotte then became a trainee solicitor, in May 2023 and qualified as a Solicitor in November 2024.

She has a caseload of various offences, but leans towards offences against the person and clients who struggle with their mental health. She also works closely with the Hull office and takes on the majority of crown court cases there too.

Charlotte currently works at the Mansfield Office.

Vicki studied at the University of Northampton. She joined the firm in January 1997 as a Crown Court Clerk. Vicki qualified as a solicitor in July 2000. She is now the head of our Lincoln Office.

Cassidy joined The Johnson Partnership in November 2019 working within the Nottingham Office. Having completed her LLB, LPC and LLM at Nottingham Trent University, she Qualified as a solicitor in July 2022 and became a Duty Solicitor in September 2022. She now works between the Chesterfield and Derby Magistrates Courts.

Michaela graduated from De Montford University. She joined Johnsons in 2002 and qualified as a solicitor in 2006. She became a partner in 2014.

Ian qualified as a Solicitor in 1991 and obtained the Higher Rights Qualification in 2004. Ian can therefore represent clients in the Magistrates; Court, Crown Court and Court of Appeal. Ian also covers Police Station work.

Ian has always defended Clients and is dedicated to obtaining the best outcome for all Clients. He has a reputation as a very strong Trial Advocate with a very good record of acquittals before Magistrates Court and Jury Trials.

Ian has represented a Premier League Footballer as well as a Magistrate who was accused of assault and subsequently found not guilty.

After 25 years in the Midlands, where he gained an unparalleled reputation for the successful representation of clients, Ian relocated to Grimsby 10 years ago.

Emma qualified as a solicitor in 1999, having studied at Keele University. She became a partner in 2002 and specialises in Youth Court work. Emma dealt with the first case ever reconstructed on Crimewatch.

Abbie Studied law at BCUC, graduating in 2005 with an LLB (Hons). She then went on to Huddersfield Uni in 2005 for her LPC. She was admitted as a solicitor March 2008.



Abbie started working at Johnsons in 2011, She works at the Mansfield and Lincoln Offices, dealing with all types of criminal law including youths and clients with mental health issues.

Euan joined the firm in 2005 as part of his degree at Nottingham Law School. He worked in the crown court department before qualifying as a solicitor in 2012 dealing in all aspects of criminal law and prison law, for which he is now Head of the Department.

Felix obtained a 2:1 Degree from Newcastle University and qualified as a solicitor in June 2021.

Felix joined The Johnson Partnership in March 2022 and since that time has become a Duty Solicitor. He has attended and advised clients both at the police station and magistrates' court.

Felix works in our Barnsley Office.

Ellie is currently on maternity leave. We look forward to welcoming her back in due course.

Stuart began working for The Johnson Partnership in January 2022 as a Paralegal. Since then Stuart completed his Police Station Accreditation and was offered a training contract. In July 2024 Stuart qualified as a Solicitor. Since then Stuart also completed his Magistrates Court Qualification and is now a Duty Solicitor.

Stuart is based at our Doncaster Office.

Siân joined The Johnson Partnership on 31st October 2016, as Chris Saunders’ assistant, having just graduated with a degree in Law at Nottingham Trent University. She became an accredited Police Station Representative whilst studying for a Masters in Legal Practice, before going on to become a Trainee Solicitor. Siân is now a qualified Solicitor with vast experience representing clients in the Police Station and Magistrates Court. She is also part of the Prison Law team, representing clients for adjudications and in front of the Parole Board.

Katie started working at The Johnson Partnership in July 2019. She completed her law degree (LLB) in 2018, graduating from Nottingham Trent University. Katie then completed her LPC and Masters Degree (LLM) at Nottingham Law School in 2019. After qualifying as a solicitor Katie worked in the Magistrates department and is also Duty qualified, she is now a Crown Court Advocate but can turn her hand to crown court litigation billing, police station representation and Saturday remand courts in the magistrates.

Nicola has been with the firm since September 1990, 2 months after The Johnson Partnership was first formed. She qualified as a solicitor in 1995 and was one of the first solicitors in Nottingham to become a Higher Court Advocate (Solicitor Advocate) and regularly appear in the Crown Court. She has conducted cases of all levels as both a litigator and an advocate in the Magistrates’ and Crown Court and the Court of Appeal.

Nicola leads the Business Defence Department and specialises in dealing with all aspects of business crime and fraud. She is also a Peer Reviewer for the Legal Aid Agency, reviewing the work of other solicitors. In her spare time Nicola is the Chair of Governors of a local primary school.

Completed my LLB, LLM and LPC in Nottingham whilst working for the Johnson Partnership part time. I then undertook a full time training contract and I am now a qualified solicitor in the Nottingham Office

Sabrina Kosur joined the firm in November 2007 working in the Call Centre, before working in the Police Station Department as an Administration Assistant. She quickly moved on to become a regular police station adviser.

Following completion of her training contract, Sabrina qualified as a solicitor in December 2023 and qualified as a Duty Solicitor in July 2024.

Sabrina works in the Magistrates Court Team at the Nottingham Office.

Beverley graduated from Derby University in 2022 with a 1st Class LL. B Law Degree, then Joined the Johnson Partnership in October 2022 as a paralegal, initially undertaking the police station accreditation to assist clients in the police station with advice and representations.
Beverley then began to study her LPC 2023/2024 part time, whilst also going on to become a Trainee Solicitor. Beverley is now a qualified Solicitor, working towards duty qualification.
Beverley is based in the Chesterfield Office and will be regularly seen at Chesterfield and Derby Magistrates Court and police stations.

Lucy joined The Johnson Partnership in August 2020 when she completed her placement year at the firm during her undergraduate law degree. She graduated Nottingham Trent University in 2022 with a 2:1 in her LLB Law Degree.

Lucy successfully passed her police station accreditation training in August 2023. Lucy was offered a training contract with the firm and qualified as a solicitor in October 2024.

Lucy works at our Sheffield Office.

Kendall joined the firm in 2018 as a crown court caseworker and is based in our Nottingham office. Since then Kendall has qualified as a duty solicitor and regularly represents clients at the magistrates court and police stations. She continues to deal with and assist counsel in a number of complex Crown Court cases. Kendall is part of our prison law team representing a number of clients before the Parole Board and at adjudications.

Chris qualified as a solicitor in January 1998. He joined the Johnson Partnership in November 2014 and is a specialist criminal solicitor.

Donna qualified in March 2001 and joined The Johnson Partnership in October 2011, becoming a partner in 2017. She is now head of the Mansfield office.

Sarah studied politics and international business at the University of Liverpool then did her Graduate Diploma in Law at Trent and the Legal Practice Course part time whilst working at Johnsons. She joined Johnsons in 2011

Having joined the firm in 2003, Helen is a dedicated member of the team who has practiced criminal defence for over 20 years. She currently specialises in advocacy before the magistrates court where she is a well known and popular advocate. She is also available 24/7 as a police station representative. She obtained a first class degree in English before training to become a solicitor.

Nicholas Rozee is a fully accredited police station representative. Based in our Sheffield office, he works throughout South Yorkshire and the surrounding areas. Nicholas joined The Johnson Partnership in 2019.

Kirsty joined Johnsons in December 2013, after working at a large criminal defence firm in London. She qualified as a solicitor in early 2013 and obtained her Duty Solicitor accreditation shortly after.

Kirsty can be found in our Chesterfield office, undertaking all types of work at the Magistrates Court and Police Stations.

Studied Nottingham university and Guildford law college, school of hard knocks and university of life. Qualified 1986, founding partner. King of the remand court and all I survey.

Hashim (Hash) Shamoan graduated with LLB and LLM from Nottingham Trent University in 2018.

He joined The Johnson Partnership in 2019 in an admin role and eventually became a trainee solicitor. Hash went on to qualify in 2024.

Hash is located at the Nottingham Office and represents clients for a wide range of matters from the police station to the magistrates court.

Maz is born and bred in Sheffield and qualified as a solicitor in 1994. He’s very caring about all his clients and his knowledge of the courts and police is second to none. He is loyal and caring and became a welcome addition to the Johnson Partnership in 2016

Jess did her degree at Derby University and graduated in 2018. She then did her LPC and Masters degree at Nottingham Trent, graduating in December 2019. She joined Johnsons in July 2019.

Robin heads up the newly established Hull office. Robin has worked in the Criminal Defence arena since 1984 and qualified as a Solicitor in 1997 through Leeds University and has vast experience in all aspects of criminal and road traffic law.

Lewis obtained a BA in philosophy from Warwick, then a Masters in law from Nottingham Trent, graduating in 2017. He started working for Johnsons in Dec 2018 and qualified as a solicitor in summer 2021.

John is a partner based at our Chesterfield office. He is qualified as a Higher Court Advocate. He obtained his degree from Coventry University and qualified as solicitor in1985. John has been with Johnsons since 2010. He deals mainly with general crime but also has Regulatory Law experience, dealing with cases before Disciplinary Tribunals

Tim was born in Doncaster. He studied Law at Birmingham University, gaining a 2.1 degree. He then did his LSF at Trent Poly, Articles at Glaisyer's BirminghamHe worked at Frank Allen Pennington Duty Sol since November 1995 then GV Hale and Johnsons since Nov 2013. He has been a Higher Courts Advocate since 2012

Yvonne joined Johnsons in March 2003 as a police station clerk at the Nottingham office, having studied Law at Derby University. She went on to pass the LPC at Nottingham Law school and qualified in July 2010, working out of our Mansfield office. She then moved to be supervisor of the Sheffield office in 2017.

Mollie is a Leeds Beckett University graduate, where she studied a Law LLB degree and achieved an upper 2:1. She is currently studying the Legal Practice Course Masters with the University of Law and is also completing her training contract.

Mollie works in the Crown Court department situated in our Sheffield office. She spends her days working with clients who are charged with a variety of serious offences and travels across Yorkshire to see them at prisons, courts and offices.

She is also a fully accredited police station representative and works out of hours assisting clients who have been detained across custody suites in Yorkshire and beyond.

Alastair has been a fixture of the Johnson Partnership for over 20 years and a partner since 2009 ; he was responsible for setting up the Prison law department in 2005 and has been involved in representing prisoners for a number of years in various challenges to the parole board ,ministry of Justice and prison service. On a number of occasions he has successfully brought judicial review proceedings in the High Court against these agencies , quashing decisions considered illegal on behalf of clients.
